Who we are

GameChef.dev is an AI-powered game engine platform. This policy explains how we collect and process personal data when you visit our website or join our waitlist. The data controller is GameChef.dev. You can reach us at hello@gamechef.dev.

What data we collect

We collect the following personal data:

• Email address — when you join the waitlist, to send your verification link and waitlist updates.
• Referral activity — we track which referral links were used to join, to award points correctly.
• Usage analytics — with your consent, we collect anonymous page view data via Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. No personal profile is built. No advertising data is collected.
• Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL) retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.

Legal basis for processing

• Contract performance — we process your email to manage your waitlist registration.
• Consent — analytics cookies are only placed after you explicitly accept via our cookie banner.
• Legitimate interest — security logs to protect our service.

How we use your data

• To send your magic link sign-in email and waitlist confirmation.
• To calculate your waitlist position and points.
• To notify you when early access opens (one email, no newsletter spam).
• To improve our website through anonymised analytics.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your email with third parties except our email delivery provider (Resend) and authentication provider (Supabase), both of which operate under strict data processing agreements.

Data retention

We retain waitlist data until the product launches or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (the minimum configurable period). Server logs are deleted after 30 days.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent — you can decline or withdraw analytics consent at any time via our cookie banner.

Cookies

We use one category of cookies: analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4), which are only set after you accept via our cookie banner. No cookies are set before consent. No advertising, tracking, or cross-site cookies are used.

Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting (EU region where possible).
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Cloudflare — security (Turnstile anti-bot) and CDN hosting.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymised website analytics (consent required).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our product grows. Material changes will be announced via email to waitlist members. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
